Call for
Special Sessions
The organizing committee of the 30th International Conference on Information Fusion invites
proposals for Special Sessions on the theory and application of information fusion at all levels.
Special Sessions are intended to spotlight focused discussion on emerging frontiers, innovative
applications, and new topics in the field. We especially encourage proposals on cutting-edge
research or topics that diverge from traditional fusion themes.
Organizers of accepted Special Sessions are required to:
-
Solicit papers from a diverse set of authors that are aligned with the proposed Special Session topic.
-
Assist with the review and selection of papers to be presented at FUSION 2027 within the proposed Special Session.
-
Act as Session Chair for the Special Session.
Proposal Requirements
All proposals for Special Sessions must not exceed 2 pages in length, and must contain the
following information:
-
The title of the proposed Special Session.
-
Names, affiliations, brief biography, and contact information for each organizer.
-
An overview of the Special Session topic that identifies its relevance and introduces the papers to be presented. This description will be made available on the FUSION 2027 website and in the proceedings.
-
A list of committed papers including: a tentative title, author list, and a short abstract for each paper. Note – A minimum of 5 committed papers are required with no single author co-authoring more than 2 papers within the Special Session.
Evaluation Criteria
Special session proposals will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis as they are received,
and according to:
1. Novelty of the Special Session Topic
2. Relevance to the field of information fusion.
3. Number of potential papers (assessed from the list of committed papers).
4. Qualifications of the organizers.
Once the proposal is approved, it will be included among the sessions available for authors to submit their papers. All committed papers must still be submitted by the paper deadline and accepted through the same review process as regular conference papers; inclusion in a proposal does not guarantee acceptance or placement in the proposed special session. If a special session has more papers accepted than the schedule can accommodate, some papers might be moved to other relevant sessions.

Submission Guidelines
Special Session proposals should be submitted via email as pdf files to specialsessions@fusion2027.org with the subject line “Fusion 2027 Special Session Proposal - <Name of Special Session>”, where <Name of Special Session> is replaced with the name of the proposed Special Session.
Important Dates:
Submission Deadline
All Special Session proposals must be received by January 15, 2027.
Notification of Acceptance
Organizers will be notified by January 25, 2027.
